I hate wearing a watch but I imagined a gold bangle watch...and I thought, now that's the watch for me. I can tollerate my gold bangle. So I went a shopping....well, I might have fallen into the rabbit hole in the ground and found Alice in Wonderland....yes these watches exist.
They cost anywhere between $600 to $1200 dollars...I had no idea something so trivial could be so pricey.....
I bought a reasonably priced watch and just called it a day....buy I am still dreaming about that minimal cheap gold bangle watch.
So silly....so unimportant.
But there it is.

I look for cheap versions of watches in places like the airport--$10 to $20 max, because I'm not very good to my watches, so why bother with the expensive ones.

Sounds like you really have your heart set on it. So... is it really "I can't afford this" or is it "oh, I'm just not worthy of such an indulgence" ?
