The blind dog who sees

Posted by Dinah on April 23, 2004, at 19:19:12

I *knew* it couldn't be a good thing! I knew it! It just couldn't be good for a dog who was supposedly blind for good to suddenly be able to see. She had a seizure tonight. So now brain tumors and the like are rushing through my head.

The seizure is over, and I think I'll wait to bring her in until tomorrow when one of the more experienced vets is there. "Her" vet is off for the weekend.

I knew I should have brought her in when I saw she could see again. But at $40 per visit(?!!!), it felt stupid to come in to tell them good news.

Drat.

dinah dear, you're such a good mommy. don't beat yourself up over this. i wouldn't have taken her in either. i wouldn't think anyone else would have either darling. (((((dinah)))))) the best doggie mommy in the world. you are a wonderful doggie mommy dear.

take care of her tonight, don't think the worst. perhaps the seizure was a sign that she'll be all better from now on? i know, bad one.. i'm trying dear. but, don't think any bad thoughts. i wish i knew more about animals, but i don't. hold her close. take her tomorrow. and you made the call that probably most people would have when she regained her sight dear.

((((dinah and doggie)))))) thinking of you and your lovely doggie.... take care dear!!!!! and you are a wonderful doggie mommy! don't you doubt that!

The two are unrelated. She can see because their is a narrow rim around the cataract that was obscured before by inflammation.

She's seizuring probably because of brain deterioration due to old age.

It's hard to get old. :(
