I couldn't believe it!!! I hoped they would beat Duke but I wasn't sure they had it in them. It was a great, nail-biters game. They played great all weekend.

I think I would have entitled it "DUKE LOST THE ACC TOURNEY."
Not taking anything away from Maryland, my excitment came because Duke lost. (They're sort of the Yankees of college bball and I'm a Red Sox fan)

Sorry - I had to chime in...I am a Tar Heels fan. So, while I'm not a Terps fan, I'm DEFINITELY not a DOOK fan...and anytime the DOOKIES lose, well, then it's a good day...
And I do like the Terps better than Ga. Tech, and even better than Wake Forest. But I was pulling for NC State after UNC lost.
Gary Williams does deserve the championship, tho', eh?

I didn't realize North Carolina hated Duke folks. Not blaming them at all. :-)
I've been a life long MD fan, and we haven't won the ACC tourney since 84. And that's when Len Bias was high on cocaine, so it wasn't even a *real* victory.
This was like redemption. I like the NCAA tourney, too, but THIS WAS SWEET.
