Posted by steviegirl on December 30, 2003, at 5:35:02

Is it possible for an ex to change so drastically over the course of 18months?His new girlfriend has converted him into a another person and she is buying his love by buying him things and taking him on holidays every month and he has become so distant this past 11 months since he's been with her, that its affecting our 3 littlies.i feel like im going crazy watching her manipulate him and he cant see it.He treats me like poop when she is around and when she is not there he is so nice to me and i dont get it.Can he have a midlife crisis at 26?This xmas he got me the nicest gift and i dont know what to think....any ideas?

In answer to the title of your post, ask any woman who leaves her alcoholic husband after 20 years and a destroyed marriage and traumatized kids, and he then realizes he needs to sober up.

Of course, after a few years of sobriety (or maybe sooner) he goes on to have a great, loving relationship with someone else.

BTW, gender doesn't matter. It could just as well be an alcoholic wife.
