This new doc ive been seeing put me on 100mg wellbutrin for ocd/anxiety about 1.5 months ago. My OCD symptoms have returned around the same period that I started taking wellbutrin, suggesting that it has aggravated these symptoms. However, i seem more motivated and stimulated by this med.
A few weeks ago i upped my dose to 3 50 mg tabs day from 100. The wellbutrin is causing me to shake and my body to vibrate. My doc said it was probably the clonazapam withdrawal effects. However, I thought about it further, and I was on clonazapam about a month before the wellbutrin and there were several days in which I did not take any of the med at all. During these days off I did not have any shakes which makes me believe that it is the wellbutrin that is causing the agitation. But my doc still wants me too stay on 3 tabs/ day wellbutrin, even though its causing me to shake!
He also said he would refuse to schedule future apointments if I went to my family doctor for a prescription, which i did before my last prescription. I thought that was extreme and rude because:
I thought that he could only prescribe me meds on the apointments we had set up.
I informed him that I had got the prescription.
It was an emergency because I was out of the med and eliminating it that quickly would have caused withdrawal. I was also concerned about the shaking.
I also asked him if i could take tryptophan which I started just before my last apt with him. He said that would just complicate things. And since ive started the tryptophan its been WONDERFUL for me
Anyway, I think im going to tell this doc to take a hike, what do u think.

I've taken Wellbutrin and clonozopam too. Wellbutrin can cause shakiness at first, but in my case, it went away. I'm not questioning your doctor (Okay, I am), but Wellbutrin is not the best med for anxiety OR ocd. It's not nearly as effective as Paxil or some of the other SSRIs.
If the tryptophan is wonderful, by all means, lose the guy who doesn't want you to take it! :)
