Hello.
Read some of your postings about how you really dont have much insurance and such and thought I'd make a suggestion my mother made to me last nite.
There always seem to be ads where I am (Michigan, USA) from various places like University's and research places advertising for volunteers with depression or anxiety for a free research study. Ads usually go on to explain that all therapy and study medication is free to participants. So, if you're not too squemish on the idea of being a guinea pig for the latest and "greatest" *cough-yeahrite-cough* drugs it might be a way to get some help for free. I'm considering it myself at the moment, because although I do have medical insurance, I don't believe it includes mental health doctors visits. Sometimes Universities will also have free groups for students or even grad-students that are looking for people to counsel for a thesis, etc. I happen to live near a uni myself, I'm not sure how far from one you might be.
I'm not sure if any one here has tried this route or if its even any good, but it might be worth looking into. For me, sometimes I think I just need someone to listen to my idiotic ranting and maybe give a little direction and I've noticed that younger docs sometimes are more willing to listen simply because they haven't been jaded by the experience that makes them think they know it all. (Sorry about the cynicism, Dr.B., but it does happen pretty often - God complex, I believe.)
:)

Thanks for the suggestion Zarah. My Mom actually said the same thing to me too a while ago. Also I do not think you rant idiotically at all. I don't think you rant at all actually. We are all here for a bit of support and to try to support others and to do that you have to say why you need support (aka. rant). I know I have done it. Well thanks again and yes I am thinking about it but my meds. are currently free it's just the therapy part. So talk to ya later,
Ayla
