I actually posted my first.. um.. note on this site last nite, but in reading through the previous postings, I saw someone mention to another newbie about introducing themselves on this board. So.. here's me. :)
Me, for the most part gets a little confusing and complex, so, for the basics.. I'm currently 25 at the time of this posting. I've done a lot of travelling across the states and across the world since I turned 18. At age 20 I was told I had "anxiety troubles" and was put on Xanax 10mg 2x/day for a couple of weeks combined with flexoril for the muscle spasms that the stress had caused. When I was 22, I was having relationship issues on top of anxiety over starting classes, moving back with mom and other things, went to my general doc who gave me Prozac for about a year. This caused me to gain about 35# (which for any women out there suffering from any kind of depression -- HOW is this supposed to help?! lol) which I've still not been able to melt off to this day.
Since then I've been dealing with my mental "quirks" sans medication and things are starting to get ... weird, thanks to other events of my life. So, I thought I'd come here to maybe get some insight or suggestions if I should perhaps seek other medication, and give me a place to vent when I'm going through a 'phase'.
So, while I'm not comfortable enough yet on this board to reveal my real name(I'm sorry, I feel like a bit of a jerk for reading some of your personal thoughts and still not giving my own name), I may later feel safe enough to divulge that as well.
Thanks for reading my rambling mess. :)

Hi,
It's good to have you here. Isn't it comforting to be able to have a place to vent? I am quite new too and everyone here is pretty nice. I am going to be 25 in a few weeks. It's funny how so much can happen in that short time.
Nice to meet you.

Yes, sometimes nice to know that I'm not as alone in what I feel and maybe I'm not really so crazy (tho I sometimes still wonder). Sometimes I vent to my cats, but they kinda give me that 'oh yeah? you're talking to a CAT!' look that really makes me question myself. :P People here seem a little more... open. :)
Congrats on your 25th.. try not to let the 1/4 century jokes get to you. :)

Hmm.. yah I guess the fact that sometimes I think my dog reminds me of myself is a little odd too =]

Hi there! I'm new too. I have'nt given my real name either. Nobody seems to mind though. I think they can all appreciate the honesty of sharing the fact that it is not your real name. You are definately not a rambling mess. I think you will fit in well here. Since I am new I'm really kind of "trigger happy" with the posting. It is really all I have to do all day. So I just wanted to say welcome and hello. If you want to know more about me there are lots of posts to choose from. If you need to talk feel free I'm pretty much always around right now.

hello Zarah! welcome! You were taking 20mg of xanax a day???? That's an awful lot, did you mean 0.2? Anyway no mind. Personally I really think it is a bad idea to reveal your real name EVER on a msg board. Especially one where you are revealing information about your mental health & personal life. The way I see it is anonymity guarantees your safety. Also, yes this is a great site but I find it best to get to know people a bit before I reveal too much. A lot of people come & go so there are many strangers & they are not all genuine. Im not trying to put you off, this is a great place for support etc but just take care with it.

I can definitely relate to the "trigger happy" posting method. I think I'm doing that too. I've been told sometimes I try to hard. This probably goes right along with it! :)
Thanks for the welcome! :)

Maybe it was 0.2mg? I tossed the empty bottle and have a little memory dyslexia once in a while. At any rate, I remember there was a 2 & it worked for me! :)

Yeah, I have noticed that anonymity seems to aid in the sharing process most times. Its like, when someone cant see you as you share things, and you cant see them if they judge you, it's almost as if it isn't really real, but you still get the benefits of the unloading. I've always been weird about crying in public - meaning, I DONT do it. Childhood issues. So, writing things down online, I can cry all I want and no one see's it, so its all ok. Maybe the name thing goes along with some old superstition.. the one where they used to say if someone knows your name, they have power over you.
I dunno. More rambling thoughts prevail. :)
Thank you!
