hey all, especially my learned Cat People,
Joe has some kind of rash and he's ripping the fur off of his little ears. They're scabbed. Eggative-nay on the ear mites...I checked his ears and they are fine. He's licking himself a LOT , which i recall my vet saying that indicated that cats were very itchy. Not scratchy, just itchy.
So...I'm taking him to the vet this am, hoping that he will choose against depositing anything in his carrier that I would rather not clean up.A kvestion- anyone ever have a vet tell them to give the kitty Benadryl for peds and just split the dose to a very small one? i thought I had remmebered that.
A little more info- he now goes ourside but for his previous 4 and 1/2 years was not allowed to because of houses on busy roads. I don waanna no keety pancake-uh. WE use Frontline on them AND i checked for fleas so we're cool there. So, no fleas...and Mel doesn't seem to have what he has so it's clearly not contagious...
Could this be any allergy? If so, what to do what to do?
Oh crap- gotta leave fer the vet.
He's hiding, that little runt...I oughhhhtta...Thanks and mroww in advance

Could he perchance be feeling some stress? When my dog lost her pup, she licked off all the hair from the tip of her tail to right behind her shoulders. The collar didn't help much. Bitter Apple helped a bit. I don't know if you can use that for cats. Time helped the most, poor darlin. That and I think it was coal tar shampoos? Again, not sure if you can use that for a cat.

hey Dinah. hope you're feeling better. i just wrote a (too) lengthy post and lost it. now I'm too tired. Long story short they had to sedate him and bathe him. Some kinda mites. Not ear mites tho. Can't remember. the vet's quite cute and I got a little distracted. They gave him something for the itchies too. Thanks for asking...it was a tough day- he's the Tasmanian Devil at the vet and then to be submerged...well...
I wrote a whole thing about feelings of dogs and now I can't remember it.
The doc put me on Demerol for severe stabbers of headaches. Almost 10 days now. Neuro guy tomorrow. CT scan negative, They're talking a lumbar tap (!!!!!!!!!!!!!) and MRI. But I know they won't find anything.Know anything about cluster headaches?
Take care of yourself dear

Poor little guy. Mites! But at least it's something they can fix.
I've heard of cluster headaches. My condolences. I understand they can be unbelievably painful. Makes me glad to have migraines!
Hope you and your little one feel better soon,
