Hi :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)

Hi everybody,

Jimi roused me out of my reverie. At least for the immediate moment.

I hope everyone is well - and Gracie - I think it's natural to have "coffin thoughts" about ex (or soon-to-be) ex-spouses.

Here lately I've felt that I'm the subject of many little voodoo doll pricks. I wonder what would happen if more than one person had a voodoo doll in your likeness. Ouch, ouch, ouch.

Is Yesac mmcasey? Who is Brio De Chimp? And Dinah, my own OCD has me running in tight little circles (read your post about insomnia). I'm staying up until all hours - alternating between obsessing about my stress (?) related adult acne and the end of the world (do I think it's ending . . . probably not - it's just one more diversion that salves the pain - which is what I personally think OCD is all about).

In the last few weeks I've had to come to grips with the fact that I have one OCD habit that always comes out in the midst of my most stressful times. Even found a board that discusses this but didn't post.

And yes, the object of another part of my OCD is the Godlike Productions website. Fast moving, full of controversy - fights/conspiracies/tongue-lashings/innuendo. All kinds of irreverant stuff that keeps my mind off of any immediate situations wherein I feel so out of control. Addionally, I'm SO not in the mood to be civil (no offense intended at all Dr. Bob!!!) or polictically correct.

I really believe that OCD behaviors are my form of personal brain salve. A way to partition off the brain for a few moments or hours. A safety valve if you will.

And Gracie - I think I may be getting SOMEWHAT better because I've gotten a rather wild hair to change a few things around in the living room. It is currently outfitted in very stark mid-century modern (our great room has more of a casual Eastern influence). Lots of white/off-white/black.

I'm adding (I think) some orange/maroon/olive/saffron striped panels at one window to create a softer sixties look. Those colors play well off of an enormous Picasso-like nude painting on one wall (I once went to the estate sale of a painter and ended up spending $700 - - - back in the day when I made money and spent it foolishly). Also bought orange/yellow/saffron pillows with little sixties looking pom pons around the edges. Still need a funky orangish (perhaps shag) rug for under the Noguchi coffee table.

AND, N. (son) and I just cleaned out the spice drawer. Two ADD, probably both OCD, punks transfering spices back and forth with funnels - watching "I love the Eighties" on VH-1 on a summer afternoon." And to think Friday afternoons used to be my most harried time of the week back in the day when I actually made a living.

If anyone is still with me on this long-winded post - yes, my son is still leaving and I've decided to make the best of it - but that could change at any given moment. The strangest things throw me into a pity party. Seeing a pillow case for a body pillow on sale and realizing I'll probably throw his body pillow away anyway when he moves. Weird things like that.

Okay, I have to work on something that's actually work related. Copy for an ad that's due in a few days.

Take care everybody. I think about you guys and I intend every other day or so to mosey on over here and see what's up.

And no, I didn't leave mad or didn't actually "leave" in my mind at all.

Best to you all -

Lee

You sound so much better. I know you are still in pain, but you must be pretty strong.

When is your son intending to move in with his father? You should get a friend to stay over with you that night. Hey ! Are you near Milwaukee?? :)

Glad to see you posting again. The last couple of days I have felt so ... warm and welcome here. Especially so. Hummmm...

Hi Lee, It's good to see you. It sounds as if you're coping pretty well in the circumstances.

Really? There used to be a fabulous OCD website that I never had the courage to post on. Fairlight? I think. But it's gone now.

I agree with that. I think I was much healthier before I tamed my OCD.

I'll be happy to see you again when you feel up to posting.
