Have you ever wondered how Dr Bob can read these threads and not get emotionally involved when somebody is sitting on the edge???
I don't understand how people can read those kind of posts and not 'feel' for the person and want to reach out to them somehow. It's human nature, is it not? I know he is professional but he's still human.
Maybe I just have too much time on my hands to think about stupid things. :)

I wonder if he calls them, or writes to them... probably doesn't have the time. I'd be too overwhelmed to run a site like this. I'd be calling people making sure they were alright and made it through the toughest times. Even being as involved as I am, it's hard to turn away. (Like right now - I should be doing my data-entry!!)

Hmmm...some people are fortunate to switch off..I know ..I lived with someone like that for 6 years..and there isn't nothing wrong with that.. life would be an emotional mess?
We all think in a way that we're been watch observed by the house doc ..but really that's not so...IMO.
Scaning posts quickly or not reading at all..has no involvement.
Living through the same crisis in real life is different..
An outsider observing can feel empathy but show it in different ways---often hidden ways .....we all can watch the news of horrific world wars hunger etc..but would we go get a plane and help..some would yes..suppose they're kinda angels: )
Or the same news can move us to give a homeless person a week later some cash...
Now I've lost the plot........

I think its really nothing to do with "having feelings" a Psychiatrist, therapist or any healthly person have similar temptation, its learning when it is most beneficial to act on your feelings that makes the difference.
Now thats something I feel like I will NEVERlearn.
No one could possibly help us in this way (the board, the links, organization and feedback) and act on impulse to help anyone in need, because I don't believe anyone could carry that burden indefinately. You have to choose your battles.
(don't mean to speak for Dr. Bob) just my 2centsNOW, as for the time on your hands.....I blushingly admit today I actually did a search to find out why Angelina Jolie and Billy Bob split.
THAT is way to much time to ponder..

Why would anyone make fun? It's obviously of such importance! I also raced to EOnline for details when I heard the news. What I heard was Billy was too busy with his rock band, and Angelina was too busy with the Cambodian orphan they adopted. Let's see if Gabbi's sources differ.

I bought an US magazine because the situation was on the front cover.
Not only has that Billy Bob fellow found his band more important than his wife and child, There are serious questions as to his....fidelity.

The good news is Angelina being the loving person she is, refuses to speak badly of Billy (thats what she calls him) for the sake of their darling adopted son Maddox.
She does admit to being "sad and angry" at this time but not yet sure if they are going to divorce.According to another "source" Billy Bob says that they remain very much married. But who's going to believe that after what he did to that poor Laura Dern, my goodness.....his behavior is appal

I forgeot I even posted here, since I am a little out of the loop right now. But I do lurk. So watch what you say!!! :-] I think I answered your post when I was in a PSB-induced coma. You know, that state you get in when you're reading this site late at night, and your head bobs down, and you fall asleep for 10 minutes, and then you wake up refreshed, somewhat, from your Power Nap, and you keep going on and on like this for hours...? This is what happens to me anyway, and it must have been during this state that I posted. So please know, Gabbi, I always enjoy reading you... And hope you are well.
And also sorry to have changed Angel Girl's original serious question to a silly-talk among US-magazine addicted celeb-hunters. I adore Billy Bob, he's one of my guilty pleasures (bad boy, rogue types, sheesh! got enough of 'em in Real Life!!)

Its funny that you mentioned the coma induced state... Dinah and I were just talking about something similar.
There's someone here who has the same name as I do (real name) and I read one of her letters and thought, "Oh maybe I joined before and forgot"
But then I read one of her other letters and realized she wasn't me. Where else could I say something like that?And have people understand no less.
Oh the guy thing.. now if thats not a whole other thread...

...yes, well...? We know what trouble those cherries get us in...
Eat more fruit - of course, I must. I just don't have the energy to peel them or pick up a knife and cut one open. I had some pears that needed a few days out of the fridge,and they went bad cuz I ignored them... It's a crime to waste food...
And I had bought a mango right during the mango discussion, quite by accident.
Lurkers aren't creepy, we all have our reasons, you know? So don't think I'm a creep... You know I'm not. But you can call me a bad correspondent any day. I am thinking of you, and reading your posts, sounds like things are somewhat stabilized... (?)
