Everything was light and fairies and elves.
And then a car pulled up and a strange man came out and offered me candy if I would just get in and follow him. I decided that I didnt take candy from strangers and went back to the fairies and elves.JohnD

Maybe worth being sure the energy you are expending is worth it? I stopped being involved in this thread some time ago, and a quick dip back seems to show its still the same ie people trying to discuss his views.
Fine if you want to, of course. But just to say I dont miss it.

I wanted to know what happens at gates 4-7. You know, the whole story.
Without the rest of the story, I'll lose interest, too.

The nature of threads like this is that they can, and have taken on a nature of their own and may veer away from the original poster's content. The problem is, anything that is said is interpreted by the original poster as having some relation to what they originally posted.
I'm with you, I'm making my attempts to back out of this neverending quagmire as quickly as possible... Generaly, my posts in this thread are directed at the group as a whole, not the original poster.

Does your mention of "out, ---" have any association with Shakespear? (out out brief candle)

Lou,
I think the wise thing to do at this point is to just tell your story. I have no desire to join you on your journey. I have my own path, with which I am well pleased. But I would hate to see the truth and beauty on your path be overlooked because of a poor presentation. There is truth and beauty on many paths, and certainly forgiveness and caritas, the first two gates, are universal concepts with which few would disagree. If you present the entire path, even if people don't choose to follow it right now, they will have a chance to ponder it and perhaps in time it will move them. But if you keep them dangling, their irritation might drown your message. And people coming to read the archives years from now will have trouble following a story broken up into such a long thread.

So kid_A, you're the author behind those wonderfully cheesey B-grade sci-fi movies? I'm first in line for your next novel. I love your posts! :-)
Seriously, you should see about writing. You can be very entertaining. Now you're going to have me searching all your old posts to see what you've said previously.

Before we go to the 4th Gate, I want to tell some more of what I saw when the 7th Gate opened. I was taken to a high mountain and I saw the City of Peace. The city had 12 gates and each gate was a gigantic pearl. Those pearls were producd by sufferings. I saw a crystal clear river in the city. It was there for the people that thirsted for life. For those who drink of those waters will have life forever. That river contained the tears of all those that had suffered and it contained the tears of the angles in heaven that rejoyced when one person came through the 7th Gate and had overcome and was given the Crown of Life. And I saw the people rejoycing to see us comming through that Gate of Triumph. For all of heaven was in a celebration to see just us few. There were no tears of suffering or sorrow in any of the people in that City of Peace for all were celebrating. There was no death in that City of Peace, for all were given eternal life. "Go and tell this to others", the people said. Is there anyone that wants to hear?

You can drink of the Waters of Life freely. He that drinks of those waters will never thirst. These waters will clense the suffering of those that drink. These waters will purify your mind and remove all of your sorrow. If you thirst for those things, then partake of the waters of life. Will you join us?

Thanks for this. I think what was concerning me was the earlier ones I *was* reading, where people were going to a lot of effort to attaempt a discussion with Lou, who was on a different tack- concerned to state his philosophy rather than discuss it. People vary, of course, but I guard my own energy carefully as I dont have lots, and was concerned if other people were putting lots of effort into replies expecting discussion.
If that makes any sense.
I think the way threads meander can be v interesting, and quite fun sometimes!
