I have them, horrid things indeed
I'll take a nightmare any time over nightterrors
wake up screaming, heart racing, no memory of it...in utter terror and fear
unable to fully awake, sense of some horror in the room with me...an incubus
lurking in the darkness waiting
there is no sleep after that...all the lights go on
i'm in a semi-sleep awake fogutter terror
anybody else have them?

I have night terrors too. They are quite horrible. After many years of living with them, I found for me that sleeping
with a nightlight seems to really help, but each person is different. I also did much better with the night terrors
when I was on zoloft. There doesn't seem to be a cure or a reason why they happen. I can correlate the frequency of
mine to my stress level. I can go a month or two without a single one if I'm in a good spell, but other times
I can have 3-4 a night. I think understanding them is the best we can do. I hope you can ge some
rest! I fall asleep pretty fast after having one, they don't keep me awake, but I don't feel
well rested ever.Good luck,

Hi,I also had them over a two year period. Its like having a panic attack in the middle of the night !! i used to scare my boyfriend screaming and literally jumping and running out of bed. Since i have been taking prozac i no longer have them, which is definately a relief. it was getting to the point where I was scared to go to sleep at night. i hope that you find some respite from them. I think they must be linked to stress, mine were occuring during difficult and uncertain times in my life. good luck !!
