For Kristi

Posted by Glenn Fagelson on October 30, 2001, at 18:04:01

Hi Kristi,

It certainly sounds like you had a temporary emotional breakdown. I am really beginning to see
how very traumatic the death of your fiancee was.
I am so very sorry; my heart really does go out to you!

How is your recovery from your surgery going?
Please, please let me know how you are doing, okay??
Glenn

Thankx! I think I am just beginning to see how very traumatic the death of my fiance was too.

I'm doing ok.... went back to work today.... am pretty beat. It's tough.... the toughest part is being told that some of the pain I'll have to live with the rest of my life. So many days I think I cant continue to live FOREVER in this pain, some days I deal with it. I'll tell you... I am so terrified of doctor's now.... It'll take something very severe for me to go back to one ever again.
How are you kiddo? You haven't posted too much lately. Are you working?
How are the med's working for you?
Thanks again.... and, I'm wishing the best for you. Please take care of yourself. Lv, Kristi

No Kristi, so far the meds have not been work-
ing for me; and officially I am off the
research medicine that I was on; it was causing
way too many side effects and I just could not
tolerate them anymore. I see my private psych
doctor on Thursday. I am happy to be rid of
the research medicine, but I am disappointed
that it didn't work out. This weekend, I am
going to stay over night at my brother's house
in Los Angeles; I'll see him, my sister-in-law
and my 2 nieces (9 years and 6 years old). The
day before that my whole family will be getting
together in Los Angeles to see the musical
"The Lion King"; everybody says the musical is
supposed to be quite good. My brain has been
going through a lot of adjustments with
medications and all, but I am sure that I will
enjoy the weekend. I also have a birthday
coming up and I will be celebrating that
as well on November 17th; I will be 50 years
old, a milestone I suppose.

I am sorry to hear that some of your physical
pain will now be chronic in nature; that's a
bummer. How bad will this chronic, ongoing
pain be? I have been meeting so many people
that are coping with long-term, chronic pain;
many have used illicit drugs as part of their
coping scheme, and that has not worked for them.
I am glad to hear, though, that you are now
strong enough to go back to work; you know,
you are indeed a very strong woman; that is
very clear to me.

I earned some pretty good money from being in
this reseach study and I took it and invested it
in a bio-reasearch pharmeceutical company, a
company where I have already made a few thousand
dollars on. I have a lot of fun investing my
money in stocks and other undertakings that I
feel are safe. Being in this research study
was very, very rough on me, but it was nice
to have gotten paid some money for it, don't
you think?

Well, I have going to sign off for now; it
was nice chatting with you. We'll have to do
this again sometime, my dear. Until then,
I wish you the best.

See you later, Kristi

Glenn

Wow.... sounds like you have a busy weekend. I really hope you enjoy it..... you deserve a little....(hmmm... a lot) of mental relaxation. I'm really sorry the med's didn't work out for you.. but enjoy the upside($).... and hopefully your pdoc will get you on a super wonderful cocktail that'll work for ya. Are you on anything right now????? Again, I'm sorry for your dissapointed.. but you had to try, and you did. Can I ask... what kind of side effects did you experience? Pretty much the normal ones?

Thanks for the compliment. I was trying to think of a way to describe the pain(that's supposedly going to be chronic)... I guess it would be like the way you feel after an incredibly intense workout the next day or two. Major muscle ache!! Closest I can really think of to relay.

That sounds wonderful!!! Good for you..... I am going to definately need to learn how to invest when my *settlement* finally comes. Keep at it.

Hi Kristi,

Good to hear from you again. How are you
doing? How are you coping with your pain?
I am cooking my dinner as I chat with you.

You had asked me if I am on anything right now. I am on 80 mg Celexa, 10 mg Zyprexa, and
Ativan as a prn. Side effects on the research
med?? Yes. Akathesia. Akathesia is a medical
term for extreme fidgitness and restlessness. I
couldn't sit and read a book for more than 45
sec. It was awful. They said it would go away,
but it never did.

Did you watch any of the World Series? I
thought sure that the Yankees would win, but I
was glad that Arizona won...I really was. This year I have been rooting for the San Diego
Chargers without too much upset. I don't know
if you have been following the Chargers; they
have been doing so-so with a record of 5 wins
and 3 losses.

I have been looking over my e-mail and I
am noticing that I write sort of choppy. Sorry
about that.

Well, I am going to sign off for now. I
hope you feel better as each day goes by. Take
care, Kristi!

Glenn

Gleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeennnnnnnnnnnn,
Hi kiddo!!!!!,
So..... how was the trip to LA? Did you have a great time or what?
So what's for dinner? I am starving, but will rely on my old standby(frozen dinner)
I'm doing ok. How am I coping with the pain? Dealing with it I guess... altho miserable most of the time. I've had a suggestion on here to look into pain management clinics, and as soon as this incision is completely healed... I'll give it a shot. I'm up for anything. I remember you talking about acupunture once? Hmmm, wonder if I can get hypnotized to feel no pain. Enough about my sad existance......
Boy , that med you were on sounds really awful. How are you doing on the celexa?? I started to take it once... lasted a whole 2 days cuz you know me... I'm afraid to take things after my effexor episode. Is Zyprexa an AD?
I sure did watch the World Series. Even tho I am generally a yankee fan.. actually the Mets are "my team"... I have been routing for the snakes all year. Been to two games... they just have such an outstanding team, I was happy to see it. Kind of mixed feelings... bumbed for the yankees... pysched for the snakes. Ya know. Great games tho... great series all around. Now I'll be going thru baseball withdrawal for a while. Baseball season keeps my boredom at bay, now..... what to do.
Oh yeah.. Chargers are a fantastic team this year.. I really believe they are going to go far. Their record could be better, but they have it in them. I have a pre season bet on them to go all the way..... we'll see. Routin' them on right there with ya!
Thanks for checkin' on me Glenn... I'm glad to have you back.
I hope you feel a little better everyday. :-)
Lv, Kristi

Hi Kristi,

How are you tonight? Well, I hope. I am cooking dinner again as I chat with you. It's
spaghetti tonight with Muir Glen's Organic
Portobello Mushroom Pasta Sauce. Boy, oh boy!

I am feeling pretty good on the Celexa, not great, but pretty good. Your choice to go to a pain management clinic sounds like a good one to me. I pray that they will be able to help you out there. Zyprexa is not an anti-depressant; it's a mood stabilizer. I have developed a
bi-polar disorder and the Zyprexa stabilizes my mood.

Really?! You have been rooting for Arizona
all year? I had a feeling. And yes, it was a great series. You have a pre-season bet on the Chargers? I'll be darn! I would be surprised if they went all the way this year, but it sure would be exciting if they did.

So,.....what can you do to keep your boredom at bay now that baseball season is over. I take it
that football doesn't interest you as much or is it
because football is generally just once a week??

Oh yes,.... the trip to L.A. I saw the "Lion King" with my family. I was a little disappointed
with it; the singing wasn't all that great; I
think I had seen the video too
many times; I knew all of the jokes and I knew too
many of the lines. The costuming and scenery, however, was outstanding! Afterwards, we (my brother, sister-in-law and my 2 nieces) battled
L.A. traffic for 2 hours before getting back home
(to their place). Then, we went out to dinner for
some sushi; it was good....real good!! I had
ice cream for dessert. The next day, I watched
the Chargers on T.V. with my brother; he gets so
upset when they do not play well. We powdered off
a pizza while watching the game; I guess I ate more than usual this past weekend. Oh well,...
every once in a while it doesn't hurt, does it?

Oh,.... my dinner is ready; so I better go,
Kristi. Please continue to take care,
Glenn

I'm doing pretty good. ... Hmmmm, I had rice for dinner. :-) I'm too lazy after work to cook anything that requires more than boiling or toasting.

Thanks for your prayers. I'm sooooo glad celexa is working good for you..... I have a script for it.. but as usual, too scared to try it. It's helped a lot of people I know.

I wish we had a pro-team here. That's what I miss most about NY.... I guess that's why 4 years ago I became a D'back fan.

Actually... I like pro football, basketball, but I love college football and baseball. College football keeps me pretty occupied. I'm best friends with a handicapper... here in las vegas, and I do a lot of research with him for the football games.. just researching the gold sheets, injuries, whatnot. It's a fun hobbie. So I really get into college football that way.. I like it much more too because they seem to be in it a little more for the sport... playing with their heart..... and the pro's is all money. I still spend my sundays watching.. but I don't have the intensity I have as I do when watching college. Baseball has always been my biggest love..... growing up going to Mets games..... it was a given.

Hi Kristi,

Yes, I like baseball too. It's a good,
solid, well thought-out game. What is a gold sheet, by the way? Also,... what are some of your favorite college football and baseball
teams?

That's all you had for dinner last night was
rice; it sounds like you are really pooped!
Tonight is a quiet night for me; I'm doing my
laundry. I just finished dinner, and I am going
to just read and listen to some music. Keep me posted on how you are doing; I really enjoy your e-mails!! So long for now, Kristi.....

The gold sheets are a publication nation-wide sports puts out. It lists forecasts, injuries, ratings... they call it the Sportsmans bible. I learn alot about how to bet from it. Just a sheet of stats basically. My favorite college football teams are Penn St, tennessee... but the list can go on and on...... guess they are the top 2. I won a lot of money as a matter of fact yesterday on Penn state. :-)

Just a sheet of stats basically. My favorite college football teams are Penn St, tennessee... but the list can go on and on...... guess they are the top 2. I won a lot of money as a matter of fact yesterday on Penn state. :-)

Hi Kristi,

Sorry that I didn't get back to you sooner;
my computer is down and will be down for a couple of days. It's my modem.

How did your doctor's appt.go? Well, I hope.

My medicine is still working; I am getting a little bored at nights and I am going to try to make an effort to get out more. I am celebrating more birthday on Sunday; I'll be going out to a very nice, high-class place for brunch with my family. I'm looking forward to it!! I am the only one in my family that has a birthday in November; so I tend to be treated extra nice when my birthday comes around.

What day is your birthday, Kristi??

Did you happen to watch the Charger game on TV?? They looked absolutely horrible!!

How is your energy these days?? You mentioned that something else has popped up for you medically. I hope it is something minor for you; I really do.

Well, I am being shooed off this computer; it's my parents'. I do pray for your health!!

See ya, Kristi

Fondly, Glenn
