Now that the dust has settled, and i am
less upset, i am beginning to see some
light regarding what the **** happened to
my *****. It just hit me.... all the characteristics are there: alienation from
family memers, obsessive work hours into the night, interdependence with members of the gang, hierarachy struggles, ostricization of "non-elite outsiders" and used-to-be close relatives, exhiliration in successful project, secrecy, and isolation from real life - it's a Nerd Cult. It can be particularly absorbing with mentally ill and medically challenged individuals.
