A chance encounter about 6 weeks ago brought back someone in my life who I never got over the first time around. He said that he felt the same and dumped his girlfriend for me. Now, he's telling me that he needs some time and space to get his head on straight. According to him, his life has been moving so fast lately that he hasn't had time to sit and reflect about the changes in his life. To him, it felt like he hit a brick wall.
What are the chances that he'll come back for me?

Thanks kk. I"m in a lot of pain right now - for various reasons - and I was really hoping someone could at least help me with this part of my problem. :-(

Well you know and dated him right? Does he have a history of getting new girlfriends quickly? If not how long ago did you speak with him. Anything is possible. Love Phillipa

> Well you know and dated him right?
>>>We met and dated last summer. Even though I knew him a brief amount of time in the grand scheme of things, I know he's the one.
Does he have a history of getting new girlfriends quickly?
>>>He's had the same girlfriend (with two short breakups) for the last 3.5 years. She's the one he just broke up with for me. He's not the kind of person to rush into things.
If not how long ago did you speak with him. Anything is possible. Love Phillipa
>>>It's been just over two weeks which may not be a long time, but to me it seems like an eternity. We spoke at least once a day and saw each other almost every night. Not having any contact with him is quite painful. We shared the intimate details of things with one another - both good and bad. How could he just shut me out? I want nothing more than to help him sort his feelings out.
I've had so many unpleasant things happen to me recently and he was the one person that could make me forget about my worries -- even if it was for a only few minutes. So much for the "I'll always be here for you no matter what" speech he gave me. And the "you're my match" comments he used to tell me...
Very sad.

I know exactly how you feel. My (ex?)girlfriend is currently deciding our collective fate in a city far away. It's only been a couple of days since she left but the pain is excruciating. I know she is the one and she says she loves me too, but she says she isn't satisfied with the quality of our relationship.
Like you, I just want to help her with her decision. Our relationship was always very loving and open and now I am totally cut off from her and it hurts. I want to go to her, I want to talk with her but I know I have to wait and let her come to me and when she does I have to respect her decision. Maybe this is not the right time for us, or for you and your boy, but it doesn't mean that you'll never get another chance. I believe that if you're both in love, you will find a way to be together. I know I'll never give up hope.
This is the end of the thread.
