this is a real problem
we live in a society that shuns touching
we are denied the comforts that others could offer because we are trained that touch is about sex or violence
i am lucky that i have affectionate friends
we hold hands, walk arm in arm
but only one will sleep with me on platonic terms
and the comfort of those nights goes a long way

i'm in LA, and man, i love the intro to the recent crash.
we travel only inches from other human beings, but shielded by layers of glass, plastic, and metal, so much that we like to crash into one another just to have some sensation of touch.i've had hypnogogic hallucinations since a child, and now they become less freaky, but i've found if you don't have a human companion along side, an animal companion can help. often i'd look to my kitty to see if she heard what i heard, and if she's deep asleep, i got nothing to worry about...
