Hi,

Although it's not life itself I hate it's the way I feel about it and my present perception it that I hate.

The worse thing is I know how wonderful life can be and I feel like I'm constantly missing out on it.

At least if you're dead you're not aware of what you're missing.

Anyway, don't do anything stupid just yet, give yourself another year at least and then rethink, that's what I'm going to do.

Are you taking anything and if so is it not helping at all?

Denise

Hi Matt
In a book I read there was this thing from Schopenhauer, which went something like........."It is said that the amount of joy in this world equals the amount of suffering. To test the truth of this assertion we need only examine the situation where one animal is eating another."
Very funny.
Loving life seems to be the great vitue, I dunno why. I don't see why you have to love it, it's just what there is. It's reasonable to say it would have been better to have never been born. Shows you're not a robot.

Interesting point. I'll throw this one out. Carl Jung said something along those lines...
that neurosis a substitute for legitimate suffering.

I didn't like life that way either. I almost blew my head off. But I couldn't get past the mess it would make. And where could I do it etc. Anyhow, somehow I didn't do it. Its 10 years later, and some of those years were rough, but I survived! And I am, so glad. Still got some problems, but also got LOTS of JOY!!!!Got a hubby 2 great kids. Man, in my wildest imaginings I could never have figgered I'd be this ok. I'm not perfect, still working, but ok most of the time. I'm SO glad I didn't do it. I would ahve hurt alot of people I didn't wanto hurt and I'd be missing out on my kids etc.
NEVER quit.Sometimes it SEEMS too hard, but you CAN survive. There is always hope. Life won't be perfect but it can be very good.

Are you feeling better today?
I understand the despair that
unmedicated problems can bring. It's the
problem of not finding the right
drugs, in my opinion. If you are
depressed, you won't feel better
until you're not. Take it to the
doctor. It's the only place to
find a medical solution.

Matt,

If you can just hang in there and get beyond these years with your mom things will get better. Just get through college and get out. Like others, I've felt this way too, but it can get better. It took years, but it did for me. Once you're on your own make sure you have a good p-doc, and like Phillipa said, maybe a mood stabilizer. Hang in there.

I agree with Jazzy. I hated living with my mom too and was very depressed. But I made it out and things are much better. Hang in there!

I would have gone absolutely crackers if I'd lived at home when I was 18. It is really important, and I suppose difficult to live elsewhere. You live in Dallas? (a risk factor in itself?). Do uni kids there share houses, it must be a big place.
