Well, my two cents...I think every woman, almost, anyway, has to start by adding on clitoral stimulation, either by oneself or by one's partner during intercourse in order to have an orgasm. Then, your brain starts to blend the two things, and so it can happen at times without specific clitoral stimulation. Also, you sort of automatically learn to bend your body so that your clitoris is included more- and, you become more knowledgeable about which positions are the best to accomplish that. OK - time to shut up!

Yes, I agree that position works well, but only if you don't mind staring at someone's legs rather than having awesome eye contact .. mind you, as the guy on bottom, you get to feel that nice little ass and give it the occasional smack ...

It seems that everyone feels there is work involved either by yourself or through instruction, and I just don't believe it has to be that way. I think if there is a real connection there.......a real connection with soul burning love that the pleasure just comes, and each know how to please the other without it being a job or being told how to do it.
Maybe I read too many romance novels, maybe I watch too many love stories, maybe I fantasize about the unattainable too often......or maybe, just maybe......love really is like that.

Which is why we should all have more than one lover, because you KNOW how impossible it is to feel that passion for the same person, over and over and over again ... Which is why couples go to extreme lengths to put passion back into a relationship. And why there's so much information about helping yourself out manually. The whole thing is kind of disgusting, to me. I guess I'm a romantic. What a silly, silly thing to be.

I do hear what you are saying, but I figure that there aren't many people in the world who that just happens for. Most of us have to figure out how our bodies work and that takes time and practice.
I hear you. I wish I could just lie back and let it happen too. But I figure if I do that I'd be waiting forever. I do think there is some truth in your body kind of learning. One day it might be able to be like that (I do hope so), but maybe you only get there by practice. Well, most of us anyway.

Susan, I agree with your observation about a bit of awkwardness with that particular position and the "staring at the legs". But we were so in love with each other, we didn't need to actually "look" at each other. A sexual position didn't define our relationship.
We were connecting and loving.

Not mechanical, realistic.
I dunno. I tend to think realism is very romantic. To me romantic isn't the stuff of romance novels. To me romantic is the husband in Punchline telling Sally Field's character that her awful new perm looks beautiful. To me romantic is the look in Grandpa's eyes when he looked at Grandma, all those years and life and kids later.
I can't imagine anything more romantic than a man anxious to deal with boring mechanics and sticky reality in order to make intimate contact equally pleasurable. I can't think of anything more romantic than what you said about looking at someone and love.

I don't think many women have orgasms through intercourse. I think clitoral stimulation is where it's at for most women. Personally, I find intercourse very satisfying emotionally and physically, but I only climax by clitoral stimulation. Luckily my husband loves to have oral sex, so I'm not deprived of orgasms.
