Husband and babble

Posted by saw on November 18, 2004, at 4:49:58

I was chatting to my husband about the support and friendship that I receive on babble. He said he can see babble helps me but what really stumped me was when he said that babble helps him too. I think he meant that by babble helping him, some pressure is relieved? Or maybe just that because it helps me, it helps him. I didn't want to analyze too much but I thought it was a nice thing to say.

Just after this discussion, I had a sudden craving for nuts so I asked him to shell some brazil nuts that I had for me. He innoncently commented, "I didn't realise you were a nutty person". It took a long time to stop laughing!

My husband would find a way to get into the site and read all my posts out of fear and then would kill me for what I have written.

Of course, I don't share *everything* with him. Umm, some things he just doesn't have to know. I realised while posting on social that he could also mean that babble helps him because he is finally gaining a better understanding of my illness.

Ada, how do you conceal the site from your H?

you are using "kill me" as a slang term for "get real mad at me", right?!?

My SO is all for babble, as much as all for anything on "that computer"... He has a great computer- only uses it as a stereo to listen to music- streaming, iTunes, and CD drive !

But he's very relieved that he is not my only "outlet" !!

I think babble is great! I can have some of the responsibility lifted for being the only one my wife can talk to or listen to. She can also see that life isn't as bad as it is for others.

adagrace, just choose another name so your unsupportive other doesn't get "bent".
