Self imposed exile unsuccessful

So. I'm back under my old name. Don't feel that the skies are the least bit clear. A month away from posting without an alternative form of support in place was very bad timing for me. A crash with depression, which was on the way anyways, made much worse by my figurative cutting off of my nose to spite my face.

Pdoc added Prozac to my regime, which I just started. I'm a bit twitchy, a bit ill tempered, finding it hard to fall asleep. Imagine if I drank coffee! But I'm also a bit more functional, so that's hopeful. I'm looking forward to the ride smoothing out for me.

The antiques business continues to be my main focus of daily activities. Sometimes it's a struggle to keep it a pleasant hobby. My tendency is to let it become a burdensome chore (my nature, maybe). On the plus side, we moved the website from the fee-paying, non-performing site to a free platform. This weekend we had our first sale, and it wasn't even from a Babbler. Go Google Attributes!! I actually do a lot of work to support the business: I blog about it, write Squidoo lenses, and post on collectors' message boards, in addition to the dealer forum where the website is presently located in cyberspace. Next month we're doing our first indoor antique show - an upgrade in terms of our merchandise, which we've been working on all along. I'm happy because it means I'll be able to work in air conditioned comfort.

There are challenges at home still with my step daughter living at home with us. I've recently been able to adopt a more detached stance and am getting some support from a community group meeting I just joined.

Lots of stuff going on. I missed this place and all the people here. I am not going to turn my babblemail on, though. Anything anyone wants to say to me, you can keep it on the boards, unless I've given you my email address, OK?

Boundaries, boundaries.

(oops, wrong board. I redirected myself) (nm)

Glad to see you - wrong board or not. :)

What is with our summertime depressions? I thought we were supposed to lay out in the sun, drinking lemonaide, reading a junk book and otherwise relaxing.

*sigh* - Jimmy Buffett helps.

Today I managed to listen to some Jane Siberry (Canadian, eh?) and Steely Dan. It's been ages since I'd even thought to load some CDs in the car while I forced myself out to run errands. Ugh - it's like walking through snowdrifts right now, trying to get myself from point A to B. Some relief will be nice. I hope it's coming.

It is good to be back, though. I was parched.

So happy to hear from you. I've really missed you. We have to work on getting that happier name back.

I understand that the business is a good thing, but it can be a lot of pressure, too, so be careful and take care of yourself.

Just glad to hear you're relatively all right. We certainly have missed you!
