I don't wanna jinx it but I also don't want to only be a foul-weather Babbler.Things are going so well for me right now. I'm making tons of friends, deepening existing friendships and family relationships, and last night I even went on a date with a woman and kissed her good night! It was a really, really hot kiss. It made my legs turn to butter.
I'm going to see her again on Saturday. Therapy has been really good, too!
I know these kinds of posts are boring but I wanted to share happiness with you guys for once.

Thanks for letting us know that! It *is* good to hear when people are doing well. Especially if you have any ideas about what might have changed for you to lead to this good period. But don't feel obligated to muse on that. Sometimes it's just nice to feel good, isn't it?

Yes, it is nice. But I have a number of ideas about what helped cause the shift. One was that I quit doing drugs--I had gotten really out of control with that, and I think it was causing me to isolate enormously.
The second thing that really helped me was going on an incredible vacation with some cousins and friends. I got to experience living with and sharing everything with other people, and it was a really special time. I think that helped to open me up. Then it's like the opposite of a vicious circle. The more I open up, the more rewarding experiences I have, and the more I'm inclined to be open. And happy.
You guys helped, too. I think especially some of that stuff that Madeline posted about. My therapist might have had a little to do with it also.
I know I will still have hard moments but this feels like a hugely important shift in my life. It scares me that it could be temporary. I hope it's not.

You have gotten to this point (yay!), and even if you temporarily get away from it, you can come back to this point. Glad you are doing well!
