Efexor

I read with concern, all of the withdrawal problems that people seem to be having on this drug. I take 300mg per day. I don't ever see myself getting off it though - I've been on it for nearly 4 years and especially not after reading your horror stories. How do you get through a day of work with fugues, dizzy spells, etc? I've also never been able to lose weight and my housemate recently commented that I don't seem to eat much differently to her yet she weighs 25kg less than me. The reason I found the Psycho Babble site was to see if weight gain was a listed side-effect by the manufacturer. I live in Adelaide, Australia and would enjoy the support of others with depression who take Efexor.

hi, i have been on effexor xr for quite a few months. I have anxiety issues and dysthemia. i have had positive effects mentally, but i have some problems with physical side effects--i don't eat anymore and i get really sleepy and also have insomnia some times. i also am extremely constipated--i can only go like once a week! i am scared to stop taking it, too, because of the side effects. i had the weight gain issue with prozac and zoloft--i got really puffy but i didn't eat any differently. i think the meds affect different metabolisms differently.
good luck with everything.

Sorry if it's confusing here, but Psycho-Babble is the board for medication issues. Here's a link:
