tricyclics (nortriptyline) vs. wellbutrin

Posted by amyt on August 6, 2003, at 22:10:06

Has anyone taken nortriptyline (or at least a tricyclic) as well as wellbutrin (separately, that is)? I've taken nortriptyline for years and it has worked well for my depressive sx's (where a long trial on an ssri did nothing), but I'm SO sick of the side effects (namely dry mouth, sedation, and constipation). I'm interested in switching to wellbutrin as it also works on the norepinepherine instead of serotonin and is supposed to have fewer side effects. Can anyone compare the two for me??? Thanks!

Hi and welcome to Babble. There are several boards on this site. This is Psychological Babble, about therapy and psychology. I think you probably wanted the medication board, Psycho-Babble, so I redirected your post there. You can follow the links at the top of this page or go directly to your post at:

Hope this helps.
