Is there such thing as depression remission? Where one simply snaps out of clinical depression or dythysmia? I imagine that mild, short-term depression can just go away, but how about longer term more severe depression?

...but I wouldn't bet my money on it. Perhaps I'm cynical but I've seen or read too few cases of major clinical depression just lifting of its own accord.
But yes, it could happen.
