Cymbalta withdrawal + VNS.

Posted by Brookie D on July 15, 2006, at 16:32:55

I am one week out in my discontinuation of cymbalta. It sucks!!!!! But it became more tolerant when I found this site and others who are having the same problems with withdrawals. I am waiting for some feedback from a local healthfood store on a possible homeopathic remedy to help lessen the effects. Will post that info when I get it.
I have TR Major Depression. Have had it for as long as I can remember but wasen't diagnosed till 1997. I began to systematically deal with all of my personal issues, and continue to do so when they crop up occasionally. I am clean and sober for 8 years and lovin' it.
I am done with drugs. I have done all that I know to do to no avail.
I have made the decision to do Vegas Nerve Stimulation and am rather excited about it. I am still researching it and have decided to participate in some clinical trials untill I am able to do it.
I would love to know of anyone out there who has had VNS and what the results are.
Glad to be here today

Hey there, welcome to Babble :-)

I'm glad you have found some people to talk to about withdrawal from cymbalta. I experienced some withdrawal symptoms from effexor a while back (thougth they were relatively mild) and I didn't know they were withdrawal symptoms until I had a chat to people on Babble about them. It really helped me deal with them as well. I was pleased to have something of a time frame where I could expect to feel better.

Have you found the alternative board yet? You could ask about the homeopathic remidy over there if you like. I haven't really posted over there, but I've heard a lot of people benefit from those kinds of treatments.

Congradulations on your being clean and sober :-) I'm trying to quit smoking at the moment. Never thought I'd do that eep. But I really want to quit. Slowly cutting back... Aiming for less than 10 per day for a couple weeks then I'll cut back to 5 for a couple weeks etc. Can't afford the withdrawals to be too bad... It is easier than I thought it would be (though it has only been a few days, admittedly).

Wow. I haven't heard of that...

I'm not too sure where would be best to post about that (because I'm not too sure what it is). I'd be interested to learn more about it.

This is the end of the thread.
