hello everybody, ive been on effexor fo 10 yrs,i just foud out its very hard to get off,i become hysterical,anger outburst that scare me and i cry alot, ive tried at least 5 diferent serotonin uptake inhiberters,the sexual side effects are hard to deal with, im taking wellbutrin to quit smoking,has anyone switched to wellbutrin sucessful ?

Welcome to Babble! - I took Wellbutrin as adjunct treatment with Effexor. When Effexor stopped working for me, my pdoc put me on Cymbalta. It was a seamless, side effect-absent transition, much to my surprise (and relief).

IVE BEEN ON EFFEXXOR FOR 6 YEARS.DONT WORRY ABOUT GETTING OFF IT ,IVE TRIED WITH NO SUCCESS. MY ADVICE IS IF ITS WORKING FOR YOU DONT STOP. MENTAL ILLNESS IS THE SAME AS ANY OTHER DISEASE THAT NEEDS MEDICATION,DONT BE ASHAMED
