Hi I've been lurking around for a while and have just felt brave enough to 'stick my head above the parapet'. have found lots of the discussions very helpful to understanding what is happening to me, thanks even though you didn't know you were helping!!

Hi Milly,
I tend to lurk alot as well. Amazing how helpful even that can be, isn't it?
This is a really great group of people. If you're ever in trouble they just appear and offer so much support.
Watch, you'll start doing too, soon : )Really glad you are here!

Thanks for the welcome. Crushingly low self estime mean't I was really really grateful as I thought I was too boring for anyone to want to say hello, even though no-one knows me. Pathetic huh!

Not pathetic at all! I am SO the same way. Even anonymous I'm always timid about posting and for SURE timid about posting a new thread. I think lots of us suffer from that and just start to get over it with time.
I usually go to the Psycho-Babble board, but just the other night wandered over and checked out the newbie and others and saw you there. On Psycho Babble everyone seems really vigilant about not leaving a poster hanging out there. Maybe here, too and it was just a fluke. Don't take it personal, girl. The cool thing is we can't discount you as boring cause we don't know you : ) We are all equal here. Stick around and keep putting yourself out there.

A lot of people don't check the Newbie board out of habit, since it used to be restricted so that not everyone could post here.
But I'll bet you'll get a warm welcome if you say hi on Social, or Psychology, or the medication board (plain old Psycho-Babble).
Welcome to Babble. Come on in and feel at home. It's a nice place.

> millyHi Milly,
Just a quick note which I'd have babble-mailed you but yours isn't turned on... Glad to see you out on the other side, giving support. Helps you as much as it help them, doesn't it? : -)
Not so new, nor so scared anymore. Congratulations.

Hey Milly,Babblemail is like an IM thing where if someone wants to talk to you without posting it publicly on the board they can. You get an email in your regular account with a link that takes you to the babblemail.
To turn it on, you go up the page and click FAQ - its kinda under that thermometer thingie. Then scroll WAYYYYY down to where the header says "What Are Those Funny >>Characters?"
Then look up to the bullet point above that. That is where you click the "Update Your Registration" link to turn it on.
If I've lead you astray and that doesn't get you there, let me know!

> How do you use it? Sorry to be this dense! You're not dense, girl ; ) If you want to mail someone, you have to open one of their posts, and click their name, you know up to the left. If it isn't highlighted, theirs isn't turned on and you are out of luck unless they turn it on.
Good luck! Glad to hear you sounding a little better : )
This is the end of the thread.
