What does trigger mean?

Posted by Lucia Francisca on December 12, 2005, at 18:37:53

Another stupid question :). What does "trigger" mean on the messages? Is this some kind of online lingo I don't know about or is this specific to Babble? Thanks! Lucia

Took me a while to figure that out as well. It means that someting within the post/thread could upset someone (trigger). Often when talking about abuse issues and or traumas, or suicide.
