when I go to the page it seems devoid of postings. Is anyone here?

I am here!
Seriously, though, this is a fairly new group that is a kind of way station for when people first join up before they start getting into the other boards. Sometimes people come here first, sometimes they just jump on in to the other boards. The others are much more active.
How are you doing?

Hi Alexandra! Thanks for writing me back.
I'm doin' alright today. My dx was just upgraded from depression to bpII, following a miscarriage and what seems like post-partum depression with low level psychosis.
I'm on Lamictal, about to add topomax, and am a bit frightened of the side effects I've read about here in terms of depression/anxiety.
What about you? What's your experience here on psychobabble?

I don't know very much about medications. I think you guys have different brand names for them and I haven't heard of those ones, though perhaps I know them under a different name. People on psychobabble know more about meds (or at least they discuss them more than me). I guess people tend to post more about their side affects than their positive experiences, though, maybe you could ask whether anyone has had positive experiences on those meds?

I've been here for almost a year now though I had a few months off. I guess I mostly post on Social and Psychology, though I also get into admin, faith, books, writing, and also the newbies board of course :-) I just recently joined as a greeter here.
I find everyone here to be really friendly and mostly very supportive and helpful. It took me a while to go from just reading peoples posts and considering them individually to starting to see the personalities behind the posting names, but that started to happen in time. Now I consider I have some friends here and it helps me feel less alone in the world with my mental health issues. Less alone, and less crazy.
Are you from the US? I am from New Zealand but I am hoping to move to the US next year.
I have been diagnosed with generalised anxiety, dysthymia, post traumatic stress, and borderline personality. I get episodes of psychosis when I am very distressed, but that doesn't happen too often any more.
Hope that wasn't all too much...
Hope you like it here and decide to join us. Just post to any board you like as you like. Welcome :-)

Hi Alexandra
Yes, I'm in the US. It seems like it's international here, which is great bc we can all learn from each other.
Where in the US are you moving to?

Hi alexandra
I live right outside Washington D.C. My mom lives in NYC. I don't personally know Boston very well, but my sister went to college there...
When are you moving here?

Hello. I hope I can get to Washington one day. I would very much like to go meet Marsha Linehan (she wrote a great book on Borderline Personality Disorder and it helped me out so much).
My moving to the US is far from a done deal. It depends on whether I get accepted (and funded) to go to college. I am only applying to two places so I may well not get in. If I do get in then I'll be moving in time for the start of classes in September. If I don't get in then I'll apply to Australia in October, and then Canada the following year.
If all that fails then I am going to change fields and go study medicine :-)
How is your week going???
This is the end of the thread.
