I just found this site today and already it has given me so much info. I have been on effexor for about a year and a half, and have decided to stop taking it--i feel like i'm not really "here" (or there, for that matter), and am tired of the apathy. but, i should point out, it lessens my depression and panic attacks to only about five a year. I will not be taking any other meds, so we'll see how it goes. "our revels now are ended"-w.s.

Hello there. I am on effexor as well and find it to be something of a mixed blessing.... If you are planning to stop taking it I would reccomend that you discuss that with your p-doc as the dosage needs to be tapered off gradually to avoid nasty sideaffects of anxiety etc. Do you think that maybe a lower dose may reduce the nasty side affects, but still assist you? It might be worth discussing that as well with your p-doc...

Anyway, jump on in to the other boards. I hope that you come to feel at home here :-)
