Anyone take both? If so, at what doses?

If you mean both at the same time, yes I did. The doctors in the hospital put me on 5mg lexapro and 10mg prozac, based on that I told them I liked the calm of lexapro but I liked the antidepressant of prozac. Idiot doctors had no creativity of their own.

Anyway, lexapro pretty much drowned out prozac. The combo had me more depressed than before, similar to what lexapro by itself did to me.

I have taken them separately as well. Lexapro was a calming one, after the first startup anxiety side effects, but then got real dulling and depressing. Like it just squashed dopamine to death. Prozac was much more enlivening, but really needed something to cut the edge. Neither was good at my core symptom of anhedonia, though prozac was better at that than lexapro.

anhedonia

Therein lies my entire problem. Quality of life still stinks when nothing is enjoyable or satisfying. Wish I had a reset button like my computer....

I was just at pubmed surfing around and stumbled on a study where they added prozac to celexa. Somehow the combination, through liver function, emphasized the S- part of celexa (the lexapro part of it). They got benefits from it without any adverse reactions.

Didn't help me at all though. I found it interesting that it has actually been done in a clinical setting that was published.
