Any suggestions on quick really easy and did I mention quick lol sources of protien for a vegetarian?
It seems to me that all the veggie protein sources have to be eaten in huge quantities to be benificial. is that right?
Ive thought about powders but they seem so artificial and Im not a fan of packaged foods that last 20 years.
And as far as calcium goes Im lost. Spinach, soymilk, broccoli, I think....but is a little ok or do I need to eat the whole broccili tree? :-)
Thanks

hi rainbowbrite,
i'm not a vegetarian, but like you, i don't like to eat meat. i have the same problem about protein. my doctors and acupuncturist all tell me i need more protein. i don't know if they know this from blood tests or just by looking at me. anyway, the bad news i got is this-- nothing substitutes for protein found in meat. i like tofu or peanut butter and such, and even though they have decent amounts of protein, the doctors say meat is best. i'm trying, but i am just not a fan. i also drink ensure shakes, a few a day. hope this helps.

Thanks

hi rainbowbrite,
well my doctors didn't exactly say that only meat was good for protein, but they did say that meat was best. they suggested that if i wouldn't eat the meat, i should at least try soup cooked with meat bone or something. i don't know why this is. i kinda think protein is overrated. some people get plenty of protein as vegetarians, so i don't think it can be true that the only good protein is from meat. one dr also suggested eggs, which i'm more okay with eating. peanut butter and luna bars work well for me.
