Sunday morning, coming down~~~~~~~

Posted by fayeroe on July 25, 2004, at 5:37:36

A another gift from Bob Dylan~

How many roads must a man walk down
Before you call him a man?
Yes, 'n' how many seas must a white dove sail
Before she sleeps in the sand?
Yes, 'n' how many times must the cannon balls fly
Before they're forever banned?
The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind,
The answer is blowin' in the wind.

How many times must a man look up
Before he can see the sky?
Yes, 'n' how many ears must one man have
Before he can hear people cry?
Yes, 'n' how many deaths will it take till he knows
That too many people have died?
The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind,
The answer is blowin' in the wind.

How many years can a mountain exist
Before it's washed to the sea?
Yes, 'n' how many years can some people exist
Before they're allowed to be free?
Yes, 'n' how many times can a man turn his head,
Pretending he just doesn't see?
The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind,
The answer is blowin' in the wind.

I am grieving today because another Marine died yesterday in Iraq. I am grieving because the powers that be think that we can invade another country and force them to think the way we think. I grieve because no one seems to "get it" about the differences in religion and culture. Their religion is their culture and we just can't force them to do as we say.......I am grieving because I'm afraid that another war in Iran is lurking just over the horizon.....for all the young women and men who have died because they had to go and fight, I grieve. For the women, men and children who were innocently in harm's way, I grieve. I pray that this will be over soon. Pat

I add my keening voice to this lament.
Every person who dies is unique and special. Never to be replaced.
snow flakes are each singular...as we are.
each one of us has a place in this life and on this planet...
So many years of saddness...
someday I will understand why we kill each other.
I will be at rest with the destructive side of this life
At this point it just seems like a loss that I feel keenly
