I found this article regarding beauty and thought it was worth posting here.
It's about the Islamic notion of beauty, and it is well explained. It's probably worth skipping any comments at the bottom (I find this news site can become inflammatory at times so I didn't even skim it this time.)

Speaking about Islamic (or any) notions of modesty (not that you were) the other day here in Japan a woman was using a mobile phone on a train. My wife and I both watched with great interest. A man came up to her, just another passenger, and said something and she immediately stopped using it. That is the first time I have ever seen someone using one.
