I obviously think they are alive or I wouldn't have posted the question. By alive I mean they contain the word of God, one and the same as God, who lives in every word. What God says to one He says to all, so they are the living words of the living God.
If reading them can cause a swelling of our understanding and a spiritual awareness that increases as we dedicate ourselves to study, then they live because they live within us. I love the scriptures. I couldn't live without them, so because they help me live more abundantly, they live.
