I post this in good faith, so to speak, and hope it is not offensive to anyone. It is not intended to bash religion or god, just for a little laugh, and because it speaks to the challenges of understanding god.
It was posted by Eddie on PSB and I thought people on this board might enjoy it.

That was good, but a little too true.
It appears my old theory is right - - that we, the bipolar and depressed are the normal ones after all, the salt of the planet. Those who don't know how to swing are the odd ducks. We aren't the only ones who use meds to get "there". Narcotics were developed so "they" could swing like "us".

> http://www.theonion.com/onion3716/god_diagnosed_bipolar.htmlI LOVE this. It does say in the bible that we are made in God's image doesn't it?! I mentioned elsewhere that King Saul in the OT was thought to be BP also. One minute he was flinging a spear at David and the next he was treating him like a son! Thanks! That helped bunches in my daily struggle for self-acceptance. By the way-I'm new and BP II, too. :} Althought I'm not new to BP II. I know it doesn't sound like it but I am medicated. : }

Hi, welcome. I hadn't thought about the image of God thing--great point. And that is interesting about Saul. He did fall on his sword at the end, didn't he?
You also made me laugh with your last line!

My next door neighbor is from Wisconsin, cool guy. His brother has been with the Onion since day 1. He does all the illustrations and some writing. My neighbor and, I'm sure his brother, are very smart, articulate and warped.
More humor, thanks.Phil

I had never heard of the Onion until Eddie posted the "hopeless" article and the bipolar god article on the social board. It is a very funny site. I can't wait for them to resume publishing on the 15th.
This is the end of the thread.
