It's that time of year again.
I haven't prepared at all, except for a weird thing. We purchased a chest freezer so I have some place to put stuff I prepare early. Ha! Have done nothing so far. In the past I've been halfway done with the thanksgiving meal preperation.

This relates to self esteem in that I already feel like a failure. Very bad attitude about myself and what I'm able to accomplish right now.
Also feeling manic (racing and grandiose thoughts with concurrent anxiety). Calgon, take me away! I wish I could cook in the bathtub. No, that sounds downright wrong.

Talk about a guilt trip? My Daughter is doing the cooking here and I'm a wreck and now my husbands Father wants to visit the next day with his prim and proper girlfriend. I can't do it. Too much stress and they are up early like you. I don't show my face to the world till ll am. And I don't serve tea and crumpets. Old fashioned people can I run away with you? Love Phillipa

yup! T- dinner is always at my house with 20 plus people. Each year it gets harder and harder. I don't have ANY fall decorations up, usually it goes up in Sept. My house is not company clean, and the cheap boxes of StoveTop is looking really good about now. Did I bring up the day after shopping at 3 am? I hate the holiday season more each year, I am a scrooze by X-mas. blah blah blah. why eat turkey anyways, why not PizzaHut?

I'm doing a roast this year instead of turkey. So far I bought the meat and tossed it in the freezer. Yesterday I made a cheesecake (capuccino, a repeat performance). Everything else is just beyond me right now. The thought of facing the grocery store again this week - ugh.
It's not as if my efforts are worth it. No one cares about this except for me and my inflated sense of having to prove myself to my husband's family. (I have no family here, and besides, they are Canadian. They got this holiday out of the way last month.)

I've been thinking of getting a little bed fridge so that I can keep all my supplements cool and out of the way of the guests.
Currently they (the supplements) are confined to a large tray on a shelf in the fridge, but I'm worried that guests may tell me there's no scientific evidence that they work, or something worse.
I don't want them to go off in the heat.

Also, "why do you keep taking them if you aren't getting better?"How about an insulated cooler?

I could say 'That one's alpha ketoglutarate. I have a blockadge in my Krebs cycle at that point and it's helping to keep my ammonia levels down. That one there is alpha lipoic acid. It's a very useful antioxidant. How about a vodka?' etc etc.
Maybe an insulated cooler is the go.

It gets pretty hot and humid at Christmas here, PJ, and drinking is the tradition.
I just hope our septic doesn't pack it in with all the guests here.

Yeah, it is all over until Dec 24, where all the happy family get together and pretend that we like each other. Oh, yeah, my family doesn't pretend, they don't like anyone.
Glad it is over, now I just have to do ALL the dishes, because nobody has learned it is proper manners to at least help clear the table and offer to help with the dishes, after all the hostess cleaned the entire house for your comfort, paid for you meal, cooked your meal, and tried to put on a happy face all day. Is it too much to ask to help with the cleanup?
Next gettogether, I am investing in Chinet, no matter how tacky I think it is.

sounds fantastic to me! i htink everything should be able to be done in the bath tub (with a glass of wine too!)
sorry the anxiety of thanksgiving is getting to you. at least you're not my husband. i woke him thursday by running into the bedroom yelling "fine! stay in bed all day. you don't care about what's important to me and i'd rather you stay in bed than get up." poor guy! what a w2ay to wake up, huh? that was about 11 and i'd been cooking since 6 am. i quickly drank a beer and said 'thorry'. (more like slurred it)
((((((((((((((((((cs))))))))))))))))
it was a success here! what about you? we had 13 adults at one point and everyone loved all the food. i'm glad we cooked this year (but i'm sure my husband won't be saying ok as fast next year!)

>It was indeed a success here too. The food turned out great. Although I had sworn to myself I was going buy as much premade food as I could, I ended up cooking it all.
My stepson and his fiancee did just about all the dishes.
My stepdaughter (who is a waitress) bussed the table and cleared everything away.I would have used the tub with the meal preperation except that my cat decided she didn't like the company in the house and she pooped in it. Poor cat, I sympathized with her.
I posted on it on Social, but I was most happy that my husband noticed that I made it through this year without my having a meltdown!

should I be keeping my fishoil in there too? I'd probably forget to take it. ((((sushiburps))))
I hate having to hide my Rx stash whenever nice 'normal' folks come over. Having no kids or pets at my place, I kind of throw my Rx bottles all over the place.
looks like a crazy person lives here :)
