Loss of Self Esteem after having memories

Posted by coley on July 8, 2006, at 2:50:52

Sometimes i will be feeling fine and I will remember something stupid that I did/said/whatever and I'll be thinking what a piece of sh*t I am and how no one is ever being honest when they pretned to like me. Man I am f*cked up.

Yeah, funny how I don't remember things I did that were good, remarkable, or made a difference. If there were any.

Myself included maybe we should look at the end of the day and write down in two columms what we did good and what we did bad. That would give concrete evidence we can't ignore. But boy is it hard we like to beat our selves up. Love Phillipa

I have days like this too. I can be driving down the road listening to a great song on the radio feeling pretty positive, when, out of the blue a memory of something bad that I did, said, something that happened, will ruin my whole outlook. I am glad to know I am not the only one this happens to.

That's a great idea, Phillipa. Esp today. Sometimes I feel as if I'm no good at what I do, which I've got to believe isn't true--

Don't know why that idea is so strong today. I'll try to write down something good I did. Probably the work I did isn't as bad as I think.

Maybe tomorrow or Monday will be better. :(

Today I woke up and had negative thoughts that today would be like every day.

Today I bought a baby girl puppy. See a pic of the breed on Social. I feel good I made a decision. Love Phillipa

I do that too. Sometimes I remember something really embarrassing and I just feel so stupid. But I've gotten pretty good about having a sense of humor about my clumsiness and awkwardness.

I mostly get low when I think about the times I got overly emotional and upset and drove people away. I try to tell myself that being sensitive is part of who I am, a good part. But it sure has seemed to scare a bunch of people off.

I guess if someone can't deal with these aspects about me, I should just think, "f*ck 'em." Of course, that's easier to say when you have someone who actually sticks around.

So where do you draw the line between self improvement and saying "This is just who I am, get over it?"

Seriously!!! I always always always feel soooooo lame!! When I'm talking to a group of people, and you konw how sometimes people will drown you out by talking louder and you realize no one is listening to you?!?!? When that happens to me my face turns all red and I walk away. Then I get people accusing me of being too sensitive! Oh man I hate having no confidence.

Oh man, that makes me SO MAD! When that happens it's an extremely controlling person your dealing with. But the person who does it is the one being rude and out of line. The bitchygirl at work always did that to me. The normal people will recognize it for what it is. Try rolling your eyes to the rest of the group. That works well for me.

On second thought, acting in a negative way very rarely pays off. Its better to just politely excuse yourself and join a conversation where the people aren't so rude. Like I said, the normal people will see it for what it is.
