i just have to brag (and cry)

Posted by karen_kay on January 1, 2007, at 10:16:43

people really aren't kidding when they say 'enjoy your son now, he'll grow up so fast' i used to think 'right! he's gonna be a baby forever (i hope that's still true).

but, my beautiful baby boy is getting so big already! he drank from his very first sippy cup yesterday. and he's eating big boy food all the time now. and he's so smart (and getting into everything already). it really makes me sad :( my little duckie is growing up so fast. he can say da da da da da all day long (and still cries 'maaaaaaaa' when he's sad or upset. so, he can say daddy all day long when he's happy but it's good to know he cries for mommy when he's upset.)

i just can't believe how very fast they grow. it's amazing (and i sooo love watching him learn new things everyday) but i still want that baby duckie that i used to hold until he fell asleep.

(((((((((((((my little duckie)))))))))))))))))))
((((kk)))) (hey, i get one too! this is way harder on me than him!)

and i'm NOT ready for high school. and his wedding. see, he's got me thinking about this stuff already.

Take heart. It just gets better and better for many years to come. I always would say that I wanted to freeze him right here - no here - no here! Because each stage would bring its own joys and seem as good as it could possibly be.

Ask me again in a couple of years, though. He's on the cusp of adolescence.

My oldest graduates from College in 4 months. Hard to believe. Feels like I was just there myself.

Brag away, Karen. It is so nice to hear! :)

What a lovely post, I've been thinking a lot lately about how fast my kids (girl 14,boy-12) who are my life (apart of course from my husband!) are growing up, and how I need to start seriously looking at what I will do with myself once they're grown and gone. Bless those baby days! I'm not even sure I appreciated it at the time as much as Karen seems to! Good on you!
