Social Security Disability for teens with BP

Posted by gr8red on November 7, 2005, at 23:38:46

I have a 14 year old son that is BP~ dx in 2/04. Can I apply for SSD for him in California. Working seems to be out of the question for me. He needs me home, and with all the times that I am called out of school for one reason or another... Just wondering if anyone had any thoughts or suggestions where I would look for the info.

Thanks

Do yourself a favor-contact a lawyer who specializes in this field=just open your phone book and start looking. Look for one who preferibly has worked w/ Soc. Security before working on the other end. It will simply state it next to his ad. Yes-you do have a good chance-as long as you have enough documentation about your son's condition, dr.s to back this up-because they will give you blank forms for you to bring to any dr.s that he is seeing-and they will make their recommendation as to what they think regarding you being primary caretaker and he will more than likely definitely get it too no doubt.
GOOD LUCK
