I've been reading a lot about Gastrodin recently. I decided to buy the LEF version. However I haven't taken it. I get quite serious bouts of GAD. I'm wondering if anyone has used it here and had any significant calming effect from it? Also I'm wondering if it has any addiction potential and if you stop taking it will you get any increase of anxiety. I realise this is a newer supplement, although it's been used in Chinese medicine for hundreds of years. Any responses would be appreciated. Thanks.

I've been reading about this in LEF Magazine. I wouldn't think that stopping it would cause rebound anxiety -- certainly nothing like stopping a benzo. But if you decide to stop taking it, you could play it safe and taper it over a few weeks.

I try not to take benzos, in fact I take very little medication and just ride out the severe waves of anxiety and change of mood. I guess I'm a bit med phobic, I'm reasonably calm at present but I'm aware that GAD can hit me at any time for no apparent reason. I'll try Gastrodin and see how it goes.

Hi nolvasnew,
I saw an interesting article on gastrodin myself the other day. What has your experience been like?

I've since recovered, but as usual it won't last. The issue is when I feel bad I don't want to feel worse so I'm reluctant to try anything I don't really know about. I guess I was desperate when I bought Gastrodin, by the time it arrived I felt better. Now I feel not too bad I don't really feel like trying it in case it makes me feel bad. Silly situation really. Gastrodin just doesn't have enough even anecdotal evidence yet, so I don't feel confident with it.
This is the end of the thread.
