Any try CBD oil?

Posted by Beckett on March 31, 2014, at 18:23:44

Hi all,

I have been reading about CBD oil. I'm trying some in a few days primarily for sleep. Studies have also suggested it may be useful for bipolar issues--I am dx'd BPII. I believe it shows promise for schizophrenic disorders.

(If you aren't familiar with CBD's inception, a child has a form of epilepsy under which she had upwards of maybe 200 seizures per week. CBD oil has minimized her seizures. This in Colorado.)

I'll report back if anyone is interested....

Beckett,

I'm not sure if I'd try cannabidiol oil for my own condition if I could obtain it easily. On one hand, it might possibly help with some of my symptoms of schizophrenia, but on the other hand, I'm not sure if it would improve or worsen my core symptoms of fatigue, difficulty concentrating, and hypersomnia.

At any rate, I'd be interested in hearing how CBD oil works out for you. I wish you luck with the stuff and hope that you'll find it to be helpful in some way.

Hi, long time since I posted on this forum, hence my new nickname here. I read this thread and looked in to CBD oil. Currently my opinion is that CBD oil appears to be too expensive. The amount of CBD in dixie elixers and cibdex which are two main rivals only has a small amount of CBD around a few mg per dosage. All the studies I've seen have used my larger amounts 200mg+ which would end up costing huge amounts, in the region of thousands of $. However I don't know how the studies arrived at the amounts they used and anecdotal evidence suggests some people have an effect from the products from the companies above.

Which brand are you using and do you know how many mg of CBD is in the product? Thanks.

Hi,

I tried a tincture of CBD given to me by a friend. She poured about a tenth of her dropper bottle into mine, and I am sorry, I don't recall the brand but could probably look it up. The bottle cost $60, and I usually took 10 drops. Oh, yes, it was called AC/DC. I have no idea how many milligrams per bottle.

10 drops would put me to sleep, but the sleep was very heavy. I would wake up the next day very late and very hung over and heavy. I hate the way mj made me feel, and the next day I felt like that. Heavy, dark mood, and a bit paranoid in my own quiet way.

I had a good long trial, a week, then canned it. My friend tKes it every night and tolerates it very well. It did put me to sleep but no effect on pain. I'm not sure how it would be as an antipsychotic type med. Maybe one with a higher THC to CBD ratio.

I was very disappointed.

Beckett,

I think it's too bad that the CBD tincture affected you in the way that it did, but thanks for letting us know how you did with the stuff. It's always good to have information on how plant compounds affect people. Of course, I wish that you would have been helped to at least a degree by the CBD tincture, but I know that I find it helpful to know that your experience with the stuff wasn't good.

I wish you luck on the road to wellness.

Tomatheus
