I read somewhere that creatine could augment antidepressants. I recently started taking about 2-3 grams and have notice that my sleep at night has improved significantly. If I do need to take clonazepam, I can get by with 1/4 of a 0.5mg tab.
Has anyone else experienced improved sleep while taking creatine?

Do you have a theory as to why this might be happening?

Maybe creatine is increasing output of adenosine at night, which plays a major role in calming the brain and preparing us for a restful sleep.
I was also thinking that creatine is improving brain energy production during the day, having a greater "winding down" or resting effect at night, similar to how exercise allows us to rest and sleep easier at night.

I understand there is a difference between ATP and the adenosine that impacts sleep, but I thought maybe adenosine receptors and adenosine output could be effected by creatine. I don't think there is any evidence for this. Maybe my second guess is more likely.

That's interesting. I'm always interested in supplements that can help with sleep, although I've been doing okay with my regimen lately, some vitamins and minerals. Thanks for posting your results.
