I have read that there is an undeniable link between allergies and depression due to the impact they have on the immune system and the impact of histamine on mood, since it can act as a neurotransmitter. That may explain why some people get depressed in the Fall, and some get depressed in the Spring and Summer when their allergies are at their worst. They don't know what the exact connection is. If you have high histamine during these times of year, there are supplements you can take to lower it, and you also have to consider strengthening your immune system. Vitamin C and zinc can help with that as can other supplements. Supplements that can help lower histamine are methionine, B6, calcium/magnesium.
This is the end of the thread.
