Hi, I experience both anxiety and depression. Albizzia is chilled without being sedative. It also improves mood, free of any real side effects at therapeutic doses. The albizzia does taste bad, but its a small price to pay for low stress. The effect is perhaps subtle to some, but I really notice the effect on my mood and actions
Ive tried many anti-depressants, from ipramine to prozac to st johns wort. This is the first ive really liked.
Anyone else into their albizzia?

I tried it as a tea and I didn't get any noticable effect. How are you taking it? and what brand of supplement is it, if you are taking a supplement of Albizzia.

I wasn't aware of a psychoactive effect.
I take it for my allergies, along with baical skullcap.
Perhaps there are many species of albizzia?

Im using Albizzia calm from planetary herbals. Its a alcohol extract. I find the effects very subtle at lower doses (I take two dropperfuls rather than one), but it becomes more obvious when you observe how you react to stress.

There aren't many substances out there that I haven't heard about, so when one comes up, I gotta find out more about.

Yep. The one I take for allergies is Albizzia Lebbeck.

Also known as persian silk tree, mimosa (although theres a few plants called that, not to be confused), and "happiness tree".

I just got the Planetary Herbals one today called Albizzia Calm. The screw top with the dropper on it is cracked on mine so that might mess it up. I'll keep it in the fridge. Doesn't taste too pleasant. I've taken one dose (at 18:45)and didn't notice anything until a couple hours later, kind of sedated feeling. I've taken another dose now (22:30) and will keep tabs on how I feel. I bought the 2fl oz bottle. I also bought some Seriphos as well, but will trial this Albizzia first. I live in the UK but I bought this Albizzia from vitaminlife in the USA just as something to fill the basket which was cheap :) hehe. It was only $5.60!! crazy. That's only a few £. In the UK this bottle would cost over £10.

As I said I didn't even want this Albizzia but for the price I had to have it. I can't get Seriphos in the UK, well only one place has it and it's £38 or something crazy like that. I paid £34 including shipping for Seriphos and Albizzia Calm. The shipping cost me $33 which is more than the products, but everything cost me less than in the UK! What a rip off country I live in, maybe that causes me stress too lol.

Since my Lyme treatment is going to be mostly Chinese Herbal ala the Dr Zhang Clinic protocol, I am comfortable with the herbs.
I noticed at a lyme forum one of the most popular Chinese herbal antidepressants has Albizia as one of its ingredients.
The lyme herbs that reduce inflammation, reduce auto-immune, reduce Herx, improve micro-circulation, and such, should be a good start in the right direction.
But specifically for mood the names that come up frequently are:

Albizia JulibrissinSo now this strange thing called Albizia has showed up at Lyme forums AND at pbabble. That says something good about this substance.

Free and Easy Wanderer is a combination of around 10-12 herbs, there have been some studies that demonstrate it's effectiveness at treating depression and anxiety. The main problem I see is finding a reliable source and knowing there's no heavy metal toxicity in the herbs.
