Which of these is giving me heart palpititons?

Taking 1) Coffeeberry
2) Alpha lipoic acid
3) Acetly-l-carnitine

Does anyone know if either of these could be causing the heart palpitions?

I am rather prone to palps and I take large amounts of both ALA and acetyl-L carnitine (carnitine too) and have never noticed these substances to cause palpitations at all.

I have never taken coffeeberry but I think I drink a lot of its juice. :) My coffeeberry juice can encourge palpitations if I overdo it.

It's not possible to say for sure.

If the coffeeberry is high in caffeine, this is a strong possibility. A significant percentage of the population has undiagnosed mild mitral valve prolapse, and sometimes the only thing that will bring on any symptoms is too much caffeine.

Acetyl-l-carnitine and alpha lipoic acid are actually taken by many to help improve and stabilize cardiac function. However, given their effects on cardiac mitochondria in overdose they could possibly disrupt normal heart rhythms by overstimulating mitochondria or disrupting redox balance.

You didn't say how much you are taking per day and how you are splitting up the dosages.

Typical dosing with ALCAR is 1 gram twice daily.

In the case of alpha lipoic acid, recent research has shown that taking the racemate may not be very beneficial. R(+) alpha lipoic acid is the preferred form of the substance. Alpha lipoic acid also has a plasma half-life of only 22 minutes in humans. The ideal type of alpha lipoic acid is a sustained release "R(+)" alpha lipoic acid.

AOR of canada makes a product called "R(+) SR", which is a product that stays in the circulation for 8-10 hours. Geronova also makes an extended release product.

And, btw, studies show that the R(+) form is better for cardiac cells. The S(-) enantiomer in regular alpha lipoic acid actually antagonizes the positive effects of the R(+) enantiomer and is likely not good for heart function.

R(+) alpha lipoic acid was shown to extend maximum lifespan in a certain strain of rodents. By extending maximum lifespan that means that some rodents of this strain lived longer than any of these rodents are known to live naturally without intervention. In human terms, this would be like living beyone 120 years. In contrast, the same study revealed that ordinary alpha lipoic acid did not extend lifespan at all in these rodents, and may have even slightly shortened lifespan. Alpha lipoic acid is a 50:50 mix of two different enantiomers, R(+) and S(-). The R(+) is the natural form that our body synthesizes. The S(-) is entirely synthetic an man made. The only reason it is in alpha lipoic acid supplements is because the manufacturing process to synthesize the product produces a 50:50 mix of each. The S(-) is not a positive component of lipoic acid, and should be eliminated.

If you supplement with R(+) lipoic acid, a good amount would be about 450mg of the sustained release form in three divided dosages daily. These extended release R(+) forms are expensive, but many of the most knowledgeable supplement users and researchers will use the R(+) exclusively.
