I took Mentat for three days and got a good antidepressant lift. I was enjoying music again. Then I drank a lot Friday night skipped all my supplements and went into a major deprssion for two days. Still I think the supplement has promise.

Been taking 2 mentat on getting up and 2 stresscare on retiring for around a fortnight now and not really seen much change.
To be fair though, i was already in a bad down cycle when I started, in fact one of the worst in some years.
Funnily enough though, I demolished a bottle of wine last night and sat and watched a romantic comedy on my PC - "Somethings Gotta Give" with jack nicholson and diane keaton should anyone fancy a look - and laughed heartily for a couple of hours. I've felt much better today, so perhaps the relaxing effect of the alcohol combined with the laughter helped.
Sometimes I think depression and anxiety can be so bloody overwhelming and totally consuming, that we forget to simply live and laugh! Its something I intend to try and remind myself of more often.

I'm still early on my experiments with Mentat and Stress Care. I do feel positive effects which give me hope. In a few days I'm going to combine it with the dopamine booster mucuna. I too have thrown in alcohol into the mix, for me it wipes out the AD effect. Good luck, keep writing.

Any side effects? I seem to get terrible side effects even from supplements. I noticed mentat has valerian which makes me very sleepy. could you really take it during the day?

It's a special type of Valerian, isn't it? I don't like ordinary Valerian much. But withania/ashwaganda is nice enough, and suits lots of people, a favourite with some herbalists.

It hasn't made me sleepy. I find it to be more on the activating side, but it doesn't make me wired. The initial antidepressant effect seems to have waned some. I'm proceeding cautiously but apparently this formulation has been used for a number of years, especially in Asia.

I'd just like to plug the double double quotes feature at this site:
http://www.dr-bob.org/babble/faq.html#amazon
The first time anyone refers to a book, movie, or music without using this option, I post this to try to make sure he or she at least knows about it. It's just an option, though, and doesn't *have* to be used. If people *choose* not to use it, I'd be interested why not, but I'd like that redirected to Psycho-Babble Administration:

Thanks!
