Tea?

Posted by Shame on March 7, 2005, at 10:20:48

Anyone have any teas they drink during the day to help with anxiousness and/or depression? It would have to be something non-sedating. Chamomile, Hibiscus and rose hips blunt me mentally, so those are out.

Blah.

I found out accidentally that decaffeinated green tea mellows me out.

I use the Tazo brand.

green tea - love this stuff. Makes me calm (I suffer from anxiety) and collected. Subtle though.

Yerba Mate - ok, so hard to get hold of. I'm lucky, I live in Chile and here you buy it in big bags for a few pesos. Great source of minerals, tastes good (actually quite addictive I think): first effect on anxiety I noticed it mellowed me but I was more focused at the same time. Some people say it is stimulating but the first time I drank it before bed I got to sleep very well.

Melissa: if you can find the fresh leaves or grow it, it works much better. Very calming, but may make you sleepy.
