First of all, why is this stuff so expensive and hard to find? I have only been able to find it at GNC. $25 for 60 tablets of 50mg. I don't have any independant health food stores around me. Where could I order this online at a decent price?
Does 5-HTP take a long time to begin working like SJW does? Or is this something you take as needed? How long do you need to take it before feeling the benefits? What is the normal dosing of it. I am guessing once a day like 50 mg before bedtime?

>iHerb.com or Vitacost.com. I use mostly iHerb but others have said good tings about Vitacost.com. They're great and the shipping if you order over $20 worth. Amazon.com may have it now too. They have good prices. The shipping is confusing and it may take longer to get it than with the other two though.

Sorry I didn't proof that last post before sending it. I meant to say that shipping at iHerb is free when you purchase $20 or more.
I only take 50-100 mg. of 5-HTP on some nights to help me sleep so I can't tell you first-hand about it's antidepressant effects (how much to take and how long before you see benefits etc.). If the link I provided doesn't answer all of your questions, then maybe others here could add more. Also, on Kelly's SJW website there's a board devoted exclusively to 5-HTP. Just click your board selection from this page:
