Hey All,
I suffer from anxiety, and am currently taking Neurontin and a small dose of Risperdal, but am interested in adding Taurine...Larry said you can't really get used to taking it every day,....Is this the case with everybody? Does a tolerance build up? And how common is it to have some success on this? Thanks

Hi -
I'm still taking taurine with some success. I take it with either l-tryptophan or 5htp, brewer's yeast for B complex and zinc. Zinc and B6 aid taurine's 'work' in the brain. I take around 2-3g a day. If I start to feel depressed from the taurine, I take 500mg l-glutamine, which seems to restore balance. Overall it is definitely worth taking IMO. Especially if you suffer from social anxiety, hyperactivity and general anxious 'malaise' - best word I can find.
Note I eat a mostly vegetarian diet due to inflammation problems, so I probably need a lot more taurine that I would on a high meat diet (meat contains lots of taurine, veggies/grains etc do not).
Sometimes I take high-dose B1 & B3 niacinamide in addition which also helps a lot.
